COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT here at JML
Well over the last five years JML have been corporately contributing to a whole community effort of restoring a turret clock placed above the entrance to the local Village Hall.
This timepiece was made by Bracher & Sydenham (Reading) and this Jeweller had many famous customers including King Edward VII .
Our local Village School started on Wednesday 19th April 1865 and Mrs West was the first headteacher her son Tom ( Thomas West ) then subsequently trained and taught at the same school for 21 years
To celebrate his community engagement the grateful villagers from here in the Hambleden Valley donated money and presented this clock as a memorial in 1901.
Roll on 125 years the timekeeping future is now happily now assured and our communities favourite clock can now look forward to celebrating its bicentenary !
